Ok, found the cause and fixed it. Not sure why there were some stray comments belonging to anspress questions that have been deleted or missplaced the comments during an update ... i dunno. Deleting those...

The is no “Anspress registration of users”. Registration is handled by WordPress, so your error doesn’t come from Anspress. Maybe some conflict between plugins ? Enable WP debug.log mode and check...

I think people should mainly update via Wordpress. And install plugins that have that minimum of check at WP.org. I'm not sure it is proper to update directly via other sources and also i'm not even sure...

There are two ways. Via Wordpress.org using the WP updating functions or via github to get the most recent (and probably not safe to use). I'm afraid there is no other way. Anspress 4 is still not availabe...

That is because you run WordPress in Debug mode. You should not do that with a live system because it may reveal sensitive information like paths etc. Always run debug mode WITH DEBUG.LOG (to a log file)....
